After a very tough five days at Glenmore Lodge in the Cairngorms, one day river crossing and micro-nav, one day security on steep ground and rope management and a 3 day expedition into the heart of the Cairngorms, I passed my summer Mountain Leader assessment.

It’s the toughest thing I’ve done in a long time, with the night on Ben Macdui being described by one of the assessors as just about as hard as it gets on summer ML. I’ll post about the week in a wee while.
