a different view

Went for a bimble up An Stac at the weekend. 500 and something metres and nice and grassy. A short day out as we had friends arriving for dinner, so I went up the south ridge above the lochan:
It’s a fantastic viewpoint for the east face of Blaven. The whole area feels like a giant satellite dish, with Blaven forming the main shell and An Stac the tiny receiver set in front of it, picking up signals from the jumbled mass of mountains away on the mainland.
Winter has gone now, from these western shores. One minute it’s iron hard and a cramponing wonderland. Next it’s bare rock and grass again.
You can see all the pics here.
