and the sun it shines on and on

Just had the most amazing couple of days in the Cuillin, giving my old friend Corncircles a hand round the Banachdich to Ghreadaidh ridge and Glamaig, which I’ll write up later, once I’ve sorted the 190 pics I took! Had to take the car to the garage at Armadale today though and the weather is just out of this world. Normally it’s severe gales and torrential rain with sun in the south of the UK but it’s a complete reversal and we haven’t seen much rain in two months on the island. It’s been wall to wall sunshine for more or less the whole of April and May.
The walk from the garage to Sabhal Mor Ostaig is a nice bimble along the shore of the Sound of Sleat and today it was like something from the Riviera, although with a cool northeasterly breeze ruffling the blue sea. There’s been a Scandinavian high over the north of Britain for weeks now, keeping the lows at bay, although it looks like the south of England is getting some pretty bad storms, with the weather slowly moving north to reach Glasgow tomorrow. No sign of it coming this far though.
So hopefully the superb weather will continue and those storms stay well to the south.
You can see all the pics here.
